The District Court granted a motion to compel arbitration of a Hurricane Ida insurance dispute, noting the policy in favor of arbitration and the fact that the four conditions for compelling arbitration under the New York Convention were met: there was an arbitration agreement in writing, providing for arbitration in a Convention signatory (the United States), arising out of a commercial legal relationship, and involving at least a non-US party – some of the insurers.
