The District Court denied a second motion to reconsider its 3 January 2023 order compelling arbitration. It denied Belmont’s sole new argument pointing to a recent Western District of Louisiana decision in which that court ruled under somewhat similar circumstances that arbitration need not be compelled. The Court noted, however, that, other than in the present case, the New York Convention – compelling arbitration – was not implicated in that decision. A first motion for reconsideration was denied on 13 February 2023.
