The District Court granted confirmation of a Texas award in respect of Cliveden, but vacated the award in respect of the other defendants, Cliveden’s alleged alter-egos, successors, or agents. The Court found that the arbitral tribunal remained within the limits of its authority by deciding claims against Cliveden, which had signed the contract containing the arbitration agreement. However, the tribunal exceeded its authority by naming the nonsignatories for pre-award interest, arbitration-related attorneys’ fees, and arbitration costs.
