In a class action brought by seamen, the Court held that the Filipino plaintiffs had to arbitrate their claims against the defendants. The Court referred to the Second Circuit’s 2017 decision in Pagaduan, where it was held that the terms and conditions (including arbitration clauses) in documents clearly and unambiguously described and referred to in the seamen’s employment contracts were validly incorporated therein.
