The Federal Court denied the application of an Angolan diamond miner to enforce a costs award rendered in LCIA arbitration, finding that payment under the award would violate the payment prohibition under the Swiss Ukraine Sanctions Ordinance, because 41 % of the creditor company was owned by a Russian shareholder which plausibly exercised control thereon.
